Getting Started
From clinic credentials to your first sign-in
RehabCardia accounts are issued by your clinic — there is no public sign-up. Once your doctor creates your account you will receive an email address and a temporary password to sign in with.

Signing in for the first time
The login screen is the same for patients and doctors — the app reads your role from your account and opens the right dashboard automatically.
- Enter your email — use the exact address your clinic registered. It is not case-sensitive.
- Enter your temporary password — the one supplied by your doctor or clinic administrator.
- Tap Sign In — patients land on the Patient Home screen, doctors on the Doctor Dashboard.
- Change your password — open Profile → Change Password straight away and set a private one.
What's in the App

Patient Dashboard
Your home screen and daily starting point
After signing in you land on Patient Home. It greets you by name, shows how much of today's programme you have finished, and gives you six shortcuts to the rest of the app.
Expires in 12 days
Reading your home screen
- Today's Progress ring — the teal card fills as you complete each assignment for the day. The caption counts completed exercises, and the pill underneath warns you when your current plan is about to expire.
- Navigation cards — six shortcuts: Exercises, Schedule, Progress, Messages, Notifications and Profile. The red badge on Exercises is the number still outstanding today; it disappears once everything is done.
- Help button — the ? in the top bar replays the guided tour for whichever screen you are on.
Exercises & Workouts
Your assignments and the guided workout player
Tap Exercises to see everything your doctor has prescribed. Each card shows the exercise name, its sets and reps, its category, and how many of today's sessions you have already completed.
Plan period
12 Jul — 08 Aug 2026
Your assignment list
- Category filters — narrow the list down to one type of exercise when you have several assignments running.
- Session counter — 1/3 means you have finished one of the three sessions prescribed for today. Tap the card to start the next one.
- Completed today — a green tick and a DONE pill mean this assignment is finished for the day. It resets automatically tomorrow.
The workout player
Starting an exercise opens the guided player. It loops through three phases for every set — DEMO, GO and REST — so you always know what to do next. Try it below: the buttons work exactly like the app.
How a session runs
- DEMO — the blue tag marks the demonstration phase. Watch the video your doctor attached, then tap I'm Ready.
- GO — the tag turns green. Perform the reps at your own pace and tap Set Done when you finish.
- REST — a countdown runs for the rest period your doctor prescribed, with audio cues in the last three seconds. Tap Skip Rest to move on early.
- Repeat — the dots above the rep counter fill in as each set completes. After the last set the session is saved and the feedback form opens.
Post-Workout Feedback
Tell your care team how the session felt
As soon as the last set is done, the feedback form opens. It takes under a minute and goes straight to your doctor — it is the main way they know whether your programme is working. The form below is live; try it.
What each field means
- Pain — yes or no. Answering Yes reveals the location chips so you can point your doctor at exactly where it hurt.
- Borg scales — two 0–10 sliders. The first rates how much it hurt, the second how hard your breathing was. The number changes colour as it climbs: green, amber, then red.
- Pulse rate — optional but useful. Measure your pulse right after the session; the app accepts 30–250 bpm.
Notes are free text and go into the same feedback thread your doctor reads, so anything unusual — dizziness, an ache the next day, a missed session — belongs here.
Progress & Analytics
See your recovery build up over time
The Progress screen turns every completed session into a picture: an overall compliance donut, a week-by-week comparison against target, and a running total of the work you have put in.
Reading your charts
- Completion donut — the share of prescribed sessions you finished, partly finished, or missed over the selected period. Compliance is the number your doctor watches most.
- Weekly bars — teal is what you actually completed, grey is the target set by your assignment. A short teal bar next to a full grey one marks a day worth catching up on.
- Session history — every workout is logged with its date, the exercise, sets completed, and both total and active duration.
- Health metrics — your Borg pain and respiration scores are plotted over time so improvements are easy to see.
- Streaks — consecutive days with all assignments completed.
Schedule & Appointments
Clinic visits and consultations
Booking and tracking visits
- Week strip — tap any day to see its appointments. A small dot underneath a date means something is booked that day.
- Appointment cards — time, purpose, doctor and location, plus a status pill: Pending, Confirmed, Scheduled, Completed or Cancelled.
- Request an appointment — pick a date and time and add a short reason. Your request arrives as Pending until your doctor accepts or declines it, and you get a push notification either way.
Messaging Your Doctor
Secure, in-app, non-urgent conversation
Messages sit in one continuous thread with your assigned doctor. They see it alongside your feedback and session history, so you rarely need to explain the context.
Using the chat
- One thread per patient — everything stays in the same conversation, so nothing gets lost between visits.
- Delivered in real time — new messages arrive as push notifications even when the app is closed.
- Green dot beside your doctor's name means they are currently active in the app.
- Good things to send: questions about an exercise, a change in symptoms, a session you had to skip and why.
Type into the demo and press Enter — your message is added to the thread exactly as it would appear in the app.
Your Profile
Account details and security
Managing your account
- Personal information — name, email, phone, medical condition and the doctor you are assigned to.
- Edit Profile — change your first name, last name and phone number. Your email and assigned doctor are managed by the clinic.
- Change Password — do this on day one, and any time you suspect someone else knows it.
Doctor Dashboard
Your whole caseload at a glance
The doctor home screen opens on a live summary of your patients: how many you are treating, how many are keeping up, and how many need a nudge — followed by shortcuts into every clinical tool.
What the dashboard tells you
- Stat strip — total patients, how many are on track, how many need attention, and how many have no active assignment yet. Tapping through takes you to a filtered patient list.
- Completion donut — today's workout status across your whole caseload, split into completed, in progress, partial and not started.
- Tool cards — Patients, Exercises, Feedbacks, Schedule, Profile and Add Patient. The green badge counts patients flagged for attention.
Managing Patients
Adding, monitoring and triaging your caseload
The patient list
- Search and filter — find a patient by name or condition, or filter straight to the group you want to work through.
- Status at a glance — On Track, Needs Attention or Not Assigned, calculated from recent adherence. A green dot on the avatar means the patient is in the app right now.
- Remind All — sends a nudge notification to every patient currently flagged for attention, in one tap.
Inside a patient profile
- Assignments — every active prescription with live completion progress; edit or delete any of them.
- Session history — each workout with sets completed, total duration and active duration.
- Health metrics — Borg pain and respiration trends charted over the programme.
- Care status override — force On Track or Needs Attention, or leave it on Auto.
- Open chat — message the patient without leaving their record.
Exercise Library
The catalogue you prescribe from
Browsing and building the catalogue
- Search and category chips — filter by cardio, stretching, strength, balance and so on.
- Difficulty badges — Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, shown on each thumbnail.
- Preview before prescribing — tap any exercise to open the video in a modal player; MP4, MOV and YouTube links are all supported.
- Upload your own — add a name, video file (up to 500 MB), category, difficulty, duration and instructions.
- Delete — remove exercises you uploaded that are no longer in use.
Assigning Exercises
Turning a library exercise into a patient's programme
Assignments are what the patient actually sees. Open a patient, pick an exercise, then set the dose — sets, reps, how many sessions a day, how long to rest, and the date range the plan runs for. The controls below behave like the real form.
Setting the dose
- Sets and reps — what the patient performs in a single session. These drive the set dots and rep counter in the workout player.
- Sessions per day and rest — up to three sessions daily, with a fixed rest countdown between sets. The patient's progress ring only fills once every session for the day is done.
- Plan period — the assignment appears in the patient's list only between these dates, and the app warns them as the end date approaches.
Instructions are shown with the exercise, so use them for form cues and stopping rules rather than general advice.
Reviewing Feedback
Where clinical signal arrives
Feedback and chat, side by side
- Feedback tab — a reverse-chronological timeline of post-workout submissions. Each entry carries pain yes/no, pain location, Borg pain and respiration scores, pulse rate and any notes typed by the patient.
- Chat tab — the same thread the patient sees, so you can respond to a worrying entry without switching screens.
- Session history — the objective counterpart: date, exercise, sets completed, total and active duration.
The Feedbacks card on the dashboard lists patients by most recent submission, so the newest clinical information is always at the top.
"Felt strong today, finished all three sets."
"Slight tightness on the last set, eased after resting."
Schedule Management
Clinic appointments and patient requests
Tomorrow, 11:00 AM — "Would like to review my exercise plan."
Running your calendar
- Approve requests — patient requests arrive as Pending. Accept or decline in one tap; the patient is notified either way.
- Create appointments — choose a patient, set date, time and notes, and save. It appears instantly in their Schedule screen.
- Weekly strip — browse day by day; dates carrying appointments are marked.
- Statuses — Scheduled, Pending, Confirmed, Cancelled and Completed.
Notifications
Shared by patients and doctors
Push notifications keep both sides of the programme in sync. Everything that is pushed to your device is also kept in the in-app Notifications list, so nothing is lost if you miss the banner.
